The present invention relates to a bioactive composition obtained through the technique of electrospinning and comprising at least one polymer. Moreover, the invention also describes a procedure for the incorporation of such electrospun bioactive composition as a coating over a plastic matrix to obtain composite materials for use in both biodegradable and non-biodegradable biomedical implants and tissue engineering.
