<p>The invention relates to a method for estimating the movement of an observation instrument (10) on-board a vehicle flying over a celestial body, the observation instrument (10) comprising at least two bars (b1, b2) the lines of sight of which are different, each bar acquiring consecutive line images forming a composite image, portions of the composite images representing substantially a single scene of the celestial body. The estimated movement is determined by means of optimizing an image resemblance function which associates a resemblance between matching pixel values of at least one pair of composite images with a given movement hypothesis, and, for each movement hypothesis considered during optimization of the image resemblance function, the method comprises the steps (200) of determining at least one space-time transformation for the at least one pair of composite images on the basis of the movement hypothesis in question and a geometric model of the observation instrument (10), and (201) matching the pixels of at least one pair of composite images by means of the at least one space-time transformation.</p> |
