The present invention relates to a self-oscillating half-bridge drive device, which comprises a half-bridge inverter circuit (I) comprising a first primary switch (Q1) and a second primary switch (Q2); and a pull-down unit (U). The pull-down unit (U) prevents the other of the primary switches (Q1, Q2) from being turned on when one of the primary switches (Q1, Q2) is in an on state so as to avoid turning on of both primary switches. In addition, the present invention also relates to a light-emitting device having such a self-oscillating half-bridge drive device.
