A honeycomb structure includes at least one honeycomb unit having multiple through holes provided side by side along a longitudinal direction across partition walls. The honeycomb unit includes zeolite and an inorganic binder. A noble metal catalyst is supported only in a region of the honeycomb unit, the region extending from one end portion of the honeycomb unit in its longitudinal direction over more than or equal to 1.5% to less than or equal to 20% of the overall length of the honeycomb unit.
