PURPOSE: An electronic money authentication system and method thereof which uses a communication terminal having a smart card are provided to increase security by using a smart card in which biometric information is stored. CONSTITUTION: A biometric information input unit(114) inputs biometric information from a user. A biometric information storing unit(111) stores biometric information of a registered subscriber. A certificate storing unit(112) receives certificate. A biometric information comparing unit(116) compares biometric information, which is inputted through an input unit, with biometric information which is stored in the storing unit. |
