A process for-the manufacture of small sensors with reproducible surfaces, including electrochemical sensors. The method includes the steps of disposing conductive material onto a substrate material, disposing sensing layer material on the substrate material, cutting the substrate material to produce one or more glucose sensors and wherein each sensor includes a code applied to each sensor and further wherein the method includes the step of disposing anticlotting agent on the substrate material.
