PURPOSE: A data transmission/reception apparatus and method thereof in a communication system are provided to increase diversity gain by transmitting parity bits through a plurality of frames and to minimize additional module in a coding/decoding process. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(1604) controls the determination of reduction target bit number according to the length of information words in a reduction application unit. The reduction application unit removes a raw corresponding to the reduced bit in a parity inspection matrix of an LDPC code. An LDPC encoder(1602) performs coding. An additional parity bit group generator(1608) generates additional parity bit groups. A frame configuration unit(1610) configures a frame.
