PURPOSE: A cooking appliance and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to easily recognize the step of actuating signals since an actuating signal and the input of low level actuating signals corresponding to the actuating signal are guided by the change of luminance or color of an input button. CONSTITUTION: A control method of a cooking appliance comprises following steps. Input buttons are lightened to the luminance of a first step or a first color. Whether an actuating signal inputted to the input button requires a low level actuating signal or not is determined. The low level input button corresponding to the low level actuating signal is lightened to the luminance of a second step or a second color. The start button among the input buttons is lightened or blinked to the luminance of the second step or the second color.
