1,035,507. Mechanical switches without quick action. CUTLER-HAMMER Inc. Sept. 17, 1963 [Sept. 17, 1962], No. 36519/63. Heading H2B. The pivoted dolly 38, Fig. 2 (not shown), of a switch is supported for universal pivotal movement in the switch housing 25 by a spherical projection 46 thereon engaging in a resilient bush 50 which is deformable to allow the dolly to be inserted. The dolly is formed with a rounded end 54 which engages with a sliding contact carrier 23 which is supported on a base 11, Fig. 3 (not shown), carrying fixed contacts 17 by a resilient cover 25 fitted by forcing it over projections 28 on the base. The carrier is located in its " on " and " off" positions by projections 32, Fig. 5 (not shown) engaging with cam tracks 30, Fig. 6 (not shown), formed in the cover 25. Connections are made to the switch by forcing rigid wires through openings 18 to engage gripping spring blades 14. The wires can be released by inserting a tool into an adjacent opening. |
