<p>Method for reducing fluid flows in a porous medium by means of a biological process. A biological process capable of degrading a carbon source to give CO2, while at the same time modifying the physicochemical conditions of the medium, and in particular increasing the pH, so as to cause a carbonate precipitation reaction, is selected. The permeability of the porous medium is reduced by causing a carbonate precipitation reaction in this medium, by means of the biological process. Use in the geological storage of acid gas, for example.</p> |
