<p>The method involves monitoring a combustion chamber temperature in combustion chambers (7, 8) of an internal-combustion engine (1) by a sensor (14), which is arranged in the chambers. A temperature-dependent precision resistor (13) is utilized as the sensor. A coil (10) of a glow plug (9) i.e. heater plug, is utilized as the precision resistor in a measuring operation, where the precision resistor is operated in a constant precision resistor temperature or with constant voltage or current. The temperature is monitored during a regeneration operation of an exhaust gas cleaning device (6).
