PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion device capable of improving propulsion efficiency while suppressing the occurrence of cavitation and erosion, and a marine vessel using the same. SOLUTION: The propulsion device for the marine vessel includes a port propeller 20, a starboard propeller 10, a port propeller shaft 22, and a starboard propeller shaft 12. The port propeller shaft 22 extends backward from a stern 3 and is connected to the port propeller 20. The starboard propeller shaft 12 extends backward from the stern 3 and is connected to the starboard propeller 10. When a propeller diameter of the port propeller 20 and the starboard propeller 10 is Dp, a distance between a distal end of a propeller blade of the port propeller 20 and a distal end of a propeller blade of the starboard propeller 10 is 0 or more and 0.5 Dp or less.
