PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonwoven fabric for a filter for reducing CO<SB>2</SB>discharged in incineration treatment while keeping the cleaning efficiency of air along with the removal of sand dust or dust in air mainly as the filter for the internal combustion engine of a car to contribute to the prevention of global warming. SOLUTION: In a density gradient type nonwoven fabric constituted by laminating fiber layers in the order of a coarse layer, a medium layer and a dense layer, 50% or above of PLA (polylactic acid) fibers originating from a plant are contained in the respective fiber layers and polyester fibers of 1.0-1.5 decitex are contained at least in the dense layer part. Further, the PLA fibers having a core-sheath structure are used in a part of the PLA fibers or the whole thereof. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
