PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier roller hardly causing carrying failure and a method of manufacturing the carrier roller. SOLUTION: This carrier roller includes a roller body formed in a cylindrical shape so that a pair of opposed end parts of a metallic plate approach or abut and having a joint between the pair of end parts. At least a part of the pair of end parts has a projection part for pressing an inner peripheral surface by projecting to the inner peripheral surface side of the roller body.
