PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging device comprising a lens unit and a main unit which can display image data presently acquired and image data acquired in the past concurrently, and which can store past image data as an image file. SOLUTION: An imaging device has a lens unit and a main unit which can be freely removed from the lens unit. The lens unit has an optical lens, an imaging element taking an image of a subject light having transmitted the optical lens, an image processing device periodically generating image data from an output of the imaging element, an accumulation device accumulating image data generated, and a communication interface transmitting periodically generated image data and accumulation image data in the main unit.
