PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of reactivating a catalyst, whereby a catalyst comprising supported noble metal having been used in decomposing an organochlorine compound present in oil to be treated and caused to decrease its decomposition capability, can be made reusable. SOLUTION: There is provided the method of reactivating a catalyst, whereby a catalyst caused to decrease its decomposition capability in a process of decomposing an organochlorine compound can be made reusable, in which process a liquid mixture of insulation oil comprising an organochlorine compound, an alkali-metal hydroxide and isopropanol, is allowed to flow through a catalyst column to contact the catalyst comprising noble metal supported by a support to decompose the organochlorine compound. The method includes reducing the catalyst of decreased decomposition capability present in an apparatus filled with the catalyst without taking the same out of the apparatus, by allowing an isopropanol solution of the alkali-metal hydroxide to flow through the catalyst of decreased decomposition capability to heat the catalyst.
