Disclosed is a lubrication system of an internal combustion engine comprising a generator which generates electric power by utilizing the power generated from the internal combustion engine, and a heating mechanism which heats the lubricating oil by utilizing the energy generated when the generator operates to generate electric power, wherein friction is reduced while avoiding increase in fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine. Decrease in engine load when the heating mechanism heats the lubricating oil is compared with increase in engine load when the generator operates to generate electric power in order to activate the heating mechanism, and operation of the generator to generate electric power in order to supply energy to the heating mechanism is permitted when decrease in engine load exceeds increase in engine load.
