<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To temporarily stop projection display in the middle of projection operations easily without worrying about the deterioration of a light source lamp or illuminance upon re-lighting up. <P>SOLUTION: A projection device includes: a projection system including a projection lens 13 which forms and emits a light image using light from the light source lamp 38; a lens cover (12) which is free to open and fixed to the light image emitting position of the projection system and shields emission of the light image in the closed state; a lens cover switch 15 which detects the opened/closed state of the lens cover (12); and a control part 45 which decreases the light emitting luminance of the light source lamp 38 by a light source driving part 44 when detecting the closed state of the lens cover (12) by the switch 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
