PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band sawing machine capable of simply closing an opening and preventing chips from scattering from the opening. SOLUTION: A table for mounting a workpiece to be cut by a band sawing blade is provided between a pair of rotatable wheels having the endless band sawing blade B wound around. A pillar 10 standing between an upper housing for storing one of the wheels and a lower housing for storing the other wheel, and a partitioning wall 50 for partitioning a passage 51 for allowing the band sawing blade to pass through adjacently to the pillar are provided. The opening 52 communicating with the passage for putting the band sawing blade into/out of the passage is provided to extend parallel to the pillar between the pillar and a front face of the partitioning wall. In the band sawing machine 1 thus constituted, a closure member 60 formed of an elastic material for closing the opening is detachably inserted into the opening. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
