PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of object search. SOLUTION: The method of representing an object appearing in one image or a series of images by processing signals corresponding to the image(s) includes a step of deriving a plurality of vertical coordinate values of the peak of the object in a curvature scale space (CSS) based on the signals. A binominal filter is used as the method for deriving the CSS representation.
