PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device or the like allowing efficient reorganization of a tree structure when failing in communication when becoming a node of the tree structure and performing the communication.

SOLUTION: The terminal device 221 receives a response from a parent node replying a request to the parent node, transmits a response to a child node in response to a request from the child node. A selection part 410 selects one of the child nodes as a representative node, and selects the other child nodes as under nodes. A notification transmission part 411 transmits a notification of the effect that the parent node of the terminal device 221 has to be made a substitutional node to the selected representative node, and transmits a notification of the effect that the selected representative node has to be made the substitutional node to the selected under nodes. A notification reception part 412 receives a notification transmitted from the parent node of the terminal device 221. A newly setting part 413 sets the substitutional node designated in the received notification as a new parent node when failing in the communication with the parent node of the terminal device 221.
