The unit (1) has side windows (2-5), a windscreen (6) and a rear window (7) for protecting an interior (8) of a vehicle (20) from weather interferences. A multi-layered colorant-photovoltaic layer is arranged between a single glazing and a one-side electrically conductive polymer foil that acts as a cathode. A generator layer is arranged between an anode and the cathode, and has an ionic material of titanium oxide or zinc oxide with artificial color pigments as ionic partner for wavelength range i.e. infrared (IR), of solar radiation. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a multi-layered photovoltaic structure of a transport unit.
