<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image holding members and an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing an increasing the roughness of images. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 includes an image holding member 44a and a developing device 50a supplying a developer with an external additive added to the image holding member 44a. The image holding member 44a comprises a cylindrical conductive support 80 and a photosensitive layer 82 covering the outer surface of the conductive support 80, and has a plurality of lines of grooves 88 formed so as to be continued in the circumference direction over the whole image forming area on the surface. The depth of the grooves 88 is preferably shallower than the average particle diameter of the developer supplied by the developing device 50a and deeper than the average particle diameter of the external additive. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
