PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine capable of reducing a projecting length projecting forward from a door body by reducing a size in the longitudinal direction of a sales unit. SOLUTION: The vending machine includes: a rectangular body cabinet (1) having a front opening and storing merchandise therein; an outer door 2 opening and closing the front opening of the body cabinet; and the sales unit 10 disposed by being incorporated in a manner that the front thereof is exposed from the front of the outer door 2 and formed with a merchandise outlet (14) in the lower part of the central region of the front. The sales unit 10 includes: a storage rack 30 for storing merchandise other than the merchandise stored in the main cabinet in a state where the merchandise are stacked upright; and a dispensing mechanism (40) for dispensing the merchandise to a merchandise receiving part 20 that is located in a backward region of the merchandise outlet by moving along the horizontal direction and contacting merchandise that is located at the bottom and stored by the storage rack 30 when a sales instruction is given.
