The element e.g. anode (12), cathode (14) and bipolar plates (18, 20), has layers arranged over each other and sectionally formed of individual pixels, where the element is formed as a micro-structured component. The pixels are made of different materials, where the individual pixels are imprinted on a carrier structure by a printing process e.g. printing plate-based process such as screen printing, drum printing and pad printing. The element is made of graphite, stainless steel, aluminum or titanium. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a function element of a fuel cell.
