[Also in Division H1] Glass compositions suitable for incorporation with the photoconductive layer of an electrophotographic plate comprise:- (i) 46% SiO 2 , 15% Na 2 O, 7% B 2 O 3 , 17% PbO, 6% TiO 2 , 5% CdO, 3% CaO, 1% K 2 O; and (ii) 18% SiO 2 , 9% B 2 O 3 , 65% PbO, 8% CdO. The photoconductor used is CdSSe. The plates may be coated with an oxide of Ge, V, Ti, Si, Zr, A1 or mixtures thereof, which may be formed by hydrolysis of a volatile chloride of the above metals. Hydrolysis may take place in a warm humid atmosphere or utilize the residual moisture in the plate.</p> |
