PURPOSE: A method and device for detecting speeding vehicles are provided to increase the efficiency of a road by applying limit speed corresponding to road conditions and traffic flow. CONSTITUTION: In a method and device for detecting speeding vehicles, an initialization unit(110) initializes the number of speed violation and the number of maximum speed violation. An acquisition unit(120) determines the limit speed of a vehicle in a specific area or a specific period, or a time slot. The acquisition unit collects the traveling speed of a current vehicle. A determination unit(130) counts the number of speed violation and determines whether the vehicle is over speed limit. The determination unit regulates violation vehicle.
