PURPOSE: A cooker and a control method thereof are provided to ensure smooth driving of a cooker by employing a control unit which differently detects an operation signal according to product model. CONSTITUTION: A cooker comprises a heating source, a control unit(60) which controls the heating source, and an input unit(50) which delivers an external operation signal to the control unit and receives a plurality of successive scan signals from the control unit. The input unit includes a model discrimination cable(C0).
