The inner sheet (4) is thermally protected by an outer layer (5,6). Another object of the invention is packaging (7) of compostable material that is adapted to cover food products (8), which comprises a mesh (3) of compostable material that is adapted to come into contact with the food products (8); and at least one strip (1) as described above. The packaging (7) takes the form of a single sheet (14) or a bag (10) with a flexible tubular mesh body (9) of compostable material that can be heat-sealed to strips (1).
