PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of improving the stability performance of the exposure control of the imaging device such as a digital camera, a method for controlling the same, and a program. SOLUTION: The imaging device 100 includes: an imaging element 11 which obtains an image; and an image sensor processing part 20 which resets the exposure of the imaging element by feedback control based on image data obtained by the imaging element 11. The image sensor processing 20 continuously executes, by pipeline processing, a process of setting an exposure time of the imaging element 11 at a first frame immediately after the start-up of the imaging device, making the imaging element 11 accumulate light in the exposure time set at the former frame at a second frame, and outputting the image data by applying a gain set by the second frame at a third frame.
