PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a blast furnace using a ferrocoke by which a stable operation can be performed when using the ferrocoke in the blast furnace by making the use amount of the ferrocoke appropriate, thereby lowering the heat-keeping zone temperature. SOLUTION: When the ferrocoke is used as the raw material for blast furnace, it is characterized that the upper limit of the ferrocoke using quantity is controlled so that the carbon quantity in the ferrocoke becomes≤1.7 times of solution-loss carbon calculated from the blasting quantity and the furnace top-part gas analyzed result. When the ferrocoke and chamber-oven coke are used together with as the raw material for blast furnace, it is preferable that the ferrocoke having smaller than grain diameter of the chamber-oven coke singly charged without mixing with ore into the blast furnace, is used.
