PURPOSE: A digital broadcast receiver for displaying a moving picture file after dividing and editing the moving picture file, and a control method for the same are provided to implement optimized editing function by assigning high priority to plural video sections. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcasting receiver displays plural thumbnail images corresponding to a first frame(S704), and selects two or more thumbnail images(S705). The digital broadcasting receiver buffers a moving picture file(S707). If the display operation of the moving picture file during the interval corresponding to a first thumbnail image, the digital broadcasting receiver displays the moving picture file corresponding to a buffered second thumbnail image(S708).
