PURPOSE: A method and device for controlling the engine start of an ISG(Idle Stop and Go) vehicle are provided to implement a six or more stage power transmission without increasing the size and weight of a transmission by reversing the starting direction of an engine through an ISG device and excluding a backward gear. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling the engine start of an ISG vehicle comprises an operating information detecting part(100), a control part(200), and an ISG device(300). The operating information detecting part detects general operating information of a vehicle. The operating information detecting part comprises an ignition switch(101) for detecting a start ON/OFF contact point, an engine RPM detection unit(102) for detecting the operating range of a brake pedal, a car speed detection unit(103) for detecting the operating range of a clutch pedal, a transmission detection unit(104), a brake detection unit(105), a clutch detection unit(106), and a transmission switch(107) for outputting information on the selection of forward/backward and neutral transmissions. When restart is requested in an idle stop control state, the control part determines the start direction of the engine and controls the restart of the engine according to the selected driving direction. The ISG device restarts the engine forward or backward according to a signal from the control part. |
