<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology with which a touch panel type input device using an optical touch panel can accurately detect a left object. <P>SOLUTION: The touch panel type input device 1 has a plurality of pairs of light emitting elements 50 and light receiving elements 60 and detects the positional coordinates of the touch panel 4 from a light shading region. A storage part 33 stores the reference arrival time T0 which is the time since emitting of light by the light emitting element 50 till detecting of light by the light receiving element 60 with no object on the touch panel 4. When shading of light is detected, an operation part 31 operates the arrival time T1 which is the time since emitting of light by the light emitting element 50 of the other pair different from the pair of the light emitting element 50 and the light receiving element 60 having detected shading of light till detecting of light by the light receiving element 60. A comparison part 32 compares the arrival time T1 and the reference arrival time T0. When inconsistency of the arrival time T1 with the reference arrival time T0 is detected, a leaving detection part 35 determines that an object may be left on the touch panel 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
