<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method, can reproduce glossiness with higher fidelity even if a luminance reproduction range is brighter in output than in input. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes a gloss region deciding part 102 for deciding a glossy region included in an input image on the basis of the luminance value of the input image, a luminance correction value calculating part 103 for calculating a luminance correction value of the glossy region, and a corrected image generating part 104 for generating an output image by adding the luminance correction value to the luminance value of the input image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
