PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for accurately measuring the thickness of a resin layer whose surface is not flat. SOLUTION: The resin thickness measuring device includes: a camera 5 for imaging an imaging region D containing a wire 2 with a light-transmissive colored resin layer (resin layer) 3 formed on its surface and for outputting an image data D1; a memory 6 for storing chroma correlation data showing the correspondence between the thickness of the resin layer 3 and chroma, and hue correlation data showing the correspondence between the thickness of the resin layer 3 and hue information; and an image processing part 7 for performing a color information extracting process for extracting the chroma and hue at each position in the imaging region D by image processing of the image data D1, a region detecting process for detecting the formation region of the resin layer 3 in the imaging region D based on the chroma and hue and the chroma correlation data and hue correlation data, and a thickness measuring process for measuring the thickness of the resin layer 3 in the formation region based on either of the chroma information and the hue information and either of the chroma correlation data and the hue correlation data that corresponds to this information.
