PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure which reduces the width size of a toroidal type continuously variable transmission, and applies the optimum pressure without being affected by a centrifugal oil pressure even in a high-speed rotation condition. SOLUTION: An oil pressure chamber 24 composing a pressing device along with a loading cam device 23 is provided between input side discs 2, 2 and output side discs 5, 5. Specifically, an annular recessed part 26 opened on an input side disk side is provided at the center of a post 25 supporting a supporting plate 11 (not shown), and an annular piston plate 27 is disposed on an opened side to compose the oil pressure chamber 24. The space between the inner peripheral surface of the piston plate 27 and the outer peripheral surface of the recessed part, and the space between the outer peripheral surface of the piston plate 27 and the inner peripheral surface of the recessed part are respectively blocked oil-tight with seal rings.
