PURPOSE: A braking device of handheld grinder is provided to secure a light and simple structure by performing braking by using the friction force between magnetic material and an electromagnet. CONSTITUTION: A braking device of handheld grinder comprises a magnetic material(34), an elastic member(36), and an electromagnet(38). The magnetic material surrounds a driving shaft(14) and is combined with the driving shaft. The elastic member is fixed to the inner surface of a housing(12) facing the magnetic material. The electromagnet is connected between the elastic member and magnetic material using the elastic member. The electromagnet is magnetized using the flow of supply current for rotating the driving shaft. If the flow of supply current is quarantined, or a magnetic repulsive force between the magnetic material and electromagnet disappears, the driving shaft is stopped by the friction force for attaching the electromagnet to the magnetic body. |
