The invention relates to a method for obtaining aliphatic C3- to C10-aldehydes from high-boiling substances accumulating in the hydroformylation of the corresponding C2- to C9-olefins in a heterogenic reaction system using an aqueous solution comprising transition metal complex compounds of Group VIII of the periodic system of the elements as a catalyst, wherein the organic phase that accumulates is subjected to separate distillation steps after separating out volatile components and after separating out the aqueous catalyst phase, and wherein the high-boiling substances are split at a high temperature in the last distillation step into a mixture of n- and iso-aldehyde that is drawn off as the top product. |
