A display apparatus includes a first liquid crystal display panel 1, a second liquid crystal display panel 2 arranged on a rear side of the first liquid crystal display panel 1, and control means 5 for causing an image to be displayed on the first and second liquid crystal display panels 1, 2, and the image display means 5 includes a first image display part 51 that causes a first image comprising a low density part having a low density value and a high density part having a higher density value than the low density part to be displayed on the first liquid crystal display panel 1, and a second image display part 52 that causes a second image comprising a low density part having a low density value and a high density part having a higher density value than the low density part to be displayed on the second liquid crystal display panel 2. When an image is observed from within a predetermined angular range with respect to a front surface of the first liquid crystal display panel 1, the first and second images overlap each other to produce a predetermined composite image.
