METHOD FOR DETERMINING USABILITY OF FIRST-CALF COWS OF SUMY INTERBREED TYPE OF UKRAINIAN BLACK-SPOTTED MILK BREED TO MACHINE MILKING

A method for determining the usability of first-calf cows of the Sumy interbreed type of the Ukrainian black-spotted milk breed to machine milking includes assessing the first-calf cows on the second-third month of lactation according to morphological properties of the udder (taking udder measurements, calculating indices, assessing functional properties thereof) and resistance to mastitis. The indices determined as optimum ones for the animals of new type are taken as the designated parameters of morphological and physiological indices of the udder.
