<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide merchandise information to a customer when the customer passes near a merchandise by preferentially selecting a route closest to the merchandise. <P>SOLUTION: An in-store guide device includes a location information acquiring part for storing merchandise location information in the store, a customer information acquiring part for storing an advertisement associated with a prescribed location in the store or acquiring information for the customer from an external part, a position detecting part for detecting the present position of the customer in the store, a route searching part for searching a movement route from the present position to the location of the merchandise based on the location information of the merchandise designated by the customer, a display part displaying the movement route and moving in the store together with the customer, and a control part for preferentially selecting and displaying the movement route closest to the prescribed location associated with the information for the customer when a plurality of the movement routes exist.
