The invention relates to a ball joint (1) comprising a pivot angle sensor (9) for determining the relative angular position of the joint housing (4) and the ball pivot (3). The pivot angle a of the joint ball (2) is determined by means of a measuring device comprising a magnet (8) and a magnetic field sensor (9). According to the invention, the position and size of the magnet (8) and the position and size of the recess of the joint ball (2) are selected for each type of ball joint from a series such that the angle kappa of the magnetic field lines (12) penetrating the magnetic field sensor (9) approximately corresponds to a constant kappam that is valid for the entire series when the respective nominal pivot angle alpham of the ball joint (1) is reached. This allows essentially one and the same magnetic field sensor (9) to be used across different types within the entire series of ball joints while said magnetic field sensor (9) can be disposed in one and the same sensor housing (7) and at one and the same point on the ball joint (1) across different types. The reduced variety of parts required and the structural simplification of the ball joint series obtained in this manner result in significant cost cuts, among other things. |
