PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet apparatus equipped with a flushing box which suppresses the generation of ink mist formed by the flushing operation of a recording head, and piling of the ink. SOLUTION: The liquid jet apparatus includes a liquid jet head which jets the liquid from nozzles formed on a nozzle surface, and a liquid receiving means which receives the liquid jetted from the nozzles. The liquid receiving means includes an opening which receives the liquid jetted from the liquid jet head, a liquid receiving part with a receiving surface held at one end by a rotating mechanism and hit by the liquid jetted from the liquid jet head, and a liquid storing part which stores a cleaning liquid for cleaning the liquid hit on the receiving surface. The liquid receiving part has a length for the other end to be soaked in the cleaning liquid stored in the liquid storing part, and is constituted to be parallel to the nozzle surface while the opening is blocked.
