PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position holding type solenoid valve recognizable whether a present position in interruption of the power supply is open or close by an energy-saving driving circuit. SOLUTION: The driving circuit, and a capacitor 4 for compensating a position in interruption of the power source are built in a coil part of the AC solenoid valve. A circuit 5 controllable to be opened and closed by DC12V is also built in so that the AC solenoid valve can be easily handled from a microcomputer. In normal use, the movement is simply made to a position in which the power source is connected. Accordingly, the valve is apparently same as an AC normally close and normally open solenoid valve. When interruption of the power source is detected, the electric power of the capacitor 4 built in is used, and movement is ended after movement to the predetermined position (open or close).
