<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display device with a position detecting function, capable of optically detecting a position of an aimed object positioned on a side to which an image is projected even if many photodetectors are not arranged around the side to which the image is projected. <P>SOLUTION: In the projection display device 100 with a position detecting function, an image projection device 200 includes: a position detecting light source part 11 forming intensity distribution of position detecting light comprising infrared light toward a detection area 10R; a plurality of photodetectors 30 receiving the position detecting light reflected by the aimed object Ob in the detection area 10R; and a position detection part 50 detecting coordinates of the aimed object Ob on the basis of the detected result by the photodetectors 30.
