<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more effective encoding method between blocks. <P>SOLUTION: In some embodiments, a method is provided for encoding a first pixel set within a first image with reference to a second image within a video sequence. Within a first searching window, one method searches and identifies a first specified portion inside the second image that best matches a first pixel set within the first image. Within the first search window inside the second image, another method identifies a first location corresponding to the first specified portion.
