<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric steering lock device for improving safety by holding a locking member at an unlock position with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: The electric steering lock device 1 includes a locking member 6 movable between a lock position where the locking member 6 is engaged with the steering shaft of a vehicle and an unlock position where the engagement is released, an electric motor for actuating the locking member 6, a worm 15 and a worm gear 12a (driving mechanism) for converting a rotational force of an output shaft of the electric motor into an advancing and retracting force of the locking member 6. The movement of the locking member 6 from the unlock position to the lock position is prevented by engaging with an arm (engaging part) 7A provided on a driver 7 of the locking member 6. A spring member 22 is provided elastically deformable to a position where the engagement with the arm 7A is released when an actuating force of a predetermined value or more from the unlock position toward the lock position is applied to the locking member 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
