<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform data compression appropriate to structured data including rows and columns. <P>SOLUTION: In each row of the structured data, it is determined whether a first data set in a row in processing and a second data set in a row immediately before processing agree with each other. When the first data and the second data agree with each other, data in the same element position of compressed data which are stored in a compressed data storage section and contain data having the same structure as that of the structured data are set null. When the first data and the second data do not agree with each other, it is determined whether the row in processing is set null. When the row in processing is set null, the data in the same element position of compressed data are set to a sign expressing the null state. When the row in processing is not set null, the data in the same element position of compressed data are set to the first data or a sign associated with the first data according to a dictionary stored in a dictionary storing section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
