PURPOSE: A track-type mobile robot is provided to reduce the size and weight of the robot because a gear box is accepted in the inner surface of a sprocket wheel. CONSTITUTION: A track-type mobile robot comprises a body(100) and a drive unit(200). A drive motor(230) is accepted in the body. The body comprises side plates(130). The drive unit comprises a driving sprocket wheel(210), a track(250), and a gear box(240). The driving sprocket wheel comprises a rim(211), a hub(212), and multiple spokes(213). The track is wound around the driving sprockt wheel and is powered by the rotation of the driving sprocket wheel. The gear box is accepted in a space formed by the side plates and the side and inner surfaces of the driving sprocket wheel.
